Cone beam 3D X-rays are sometimes called cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) scans. This type of dental imaging uses a cone-shaped X-ray beam to create a three-dimensional image of the whole mouth. Traditional dental X-rays can only capture teeth, bones, and some soft tissues – 3D X-rays can create a highly detailed map of the teeth, bones, gums, nerves, and airway.

Cone beam 3D X-rays are very quick. You’ll step inside a specialized computed tomography machine, and once you’re in place, a unit will rotate around your head. This unit will capture hundreds of two-dimensional images, which are then automatically combined to create a 3D rendering. Afterward, you’ll review the rendering with Dr. Du Mond.

Dr. Du Mond carefully examined my jaw, temples and back to source all of the tension related to my jaw clenching. The injections really helped!
