X-rays allow Dr. Du Mond to diagnose your dental needs. At DMD Dental, we offer digital X-rays, a more advanced form of traditional X-rays.
What are Digital X-Rays?
Digital X-rays use computerized sensors to capture an image of your teeth and jawbone. These images are then uploaded to a computer, which allows Dr. Du Mond to view them. Digital X-rays can show concerns like bone loss, decay, damage, infections, and abnormal anatomy.

What are the Benefits of Digital X-Rays?
Traditional X-rays emit radiation that captures the image of your teeth. Digital X-rays are similar but use up to 90% less radiation. Among their many uses, digital X-rays are a valuable way to identify areas of decay and plan procedures such as restorations, root canals, and oral surgery. Finally, digital X-rays are more digitally accessible than traditional X-rays and can be more easily adjusted for analysis.
What Can I Expect From Digital X-Rays?
Digital X-rays are very quick. DMD Dental will insert a specialized sensor in your mouth or place a different sensor outside your mouth that will emit small amounts of radiation and capture the image of your teeth. This process takes only a few minutes. Once complete, Dr. Du Mond will review your images and discuss the next steps in your treatment plan.
The Digital X-Rays Process and Beyond
Digital X-rays are typically taken to give Dr. Du Mond an up-to-date picture of your oral health. They may also be recommended if you require restorative treatments or are experiencing areas of pain or bone and enamel loss. Dr. Du Mond will recommend the right frequency for your needs.
