What Can I Expect From Implant-Retained Dentures?
Implants require sufficient bone tissue in order to be placed. Dr. Du Mond will take scans or X-rays to measure the amount of bone available and determine how to proceed. Bone grafts or a sinus lift may be needed before the implants can be placed. Once the implants are in place, you will undergo a healing period while the bone and implants fuse together. Then, Dr. Du Mond will develop and place your dentures, checking them for fit and ensuring your bite remains healthy.

Implant-retained dentures can last for 10 years or more with proper care. Taking care of your dentures is key to getting good results – make sure to clean them regularly and care for them just like real teeth. Avoid hot water and crunchy or hard foods, which can cause damage to the dentures. Keep them away from children and pets, and meet with Dr. Du Mond regularly for a hygiene appointment where she can check your dentures for signs of wear or infection.
